Creep (2014) - When Simplicity Wins over Everything

 Creep (2014)

"Creep" is a marvel. So it's actually quite scary, quite scary, but it's a wonder how on an incredibly small budget they were able to make such a brilliant and successful film. On the technical side it is a classic "fake documentary", therefore shot quite amateurishly, but this is not a flaw at all, quite the opposite: being an intrinsic element of the plot, preparatory to the unfolding of events, it is pleasant and well contextualised within the movie.

It goes without saying that the most successful aspects are the performances and the story.

The two actors are very good, but the jewel in the crown is undoubtedly Mark Duplass: his portrayal of Josep is as frightening as it is mysterious and it is precisely these aspects that make him one of the most, as the title suggests, creepy characters, not only of history but also of all horror cinema.
The plot, as I have repeated several times, is the perfect example of quality over quantity: few locations, few actors, few twists but placed in a truly captivating and attractive way, capable of always leaving the viewer amazed.

Worthy of mention and important is the presence of "fear", something not to be taken for granted in horror films of recent years; that's right because this Creep will make even the bravest viewer cower in fear, so get ready.
Having said all this, the film is not without its flaws. In fact, if on the one hand there is an element that is not obvious such as fear, on the other we are faced with a very common element in the genre, that is, very stupid choices made by the characters and devoid of any logical sense.

Despite this, the film will scare to death and a lot of effort will go away from the minds of those who have seen it.
